Network security rests on three layers: preventing a breach (firewall, e-mail filtering, updates), limiting the damage when one happens anyway (network segmentation, restricted permissions), and being able to get back into operation (tested backups). We design, deploy and manage these layers for small and medium companies. A security audit starts at CZK 1,090 per hour (about €45).
The third layer is the one most often forgotten. With ransomware it is the backup, not the antivirus, that decides the fate of the company. That is why with every client we verify that backups are not reachable from the same account as production data (otherwise the attacker encrypts those too) and that a restore has actually been tested. An untested backup is not a backup.
An audit starts by listing what we are actually protecting – which servers, data and services the company cannot run without. Only then does it make sense to examine how well they are secured. We review the firewall configuration and rules for access from outside, the update status of servers and workstations, user permissions, backup settings, and how remote access connects into the network.
The output is a list of findings ordered by severity with an estimate of the effort involved, not a general recommendation to “improve security”. Most findings turn out to be cheap to fix – typically an unused service reachable from the internet, a shared administrator password, or a backup on a disk attached to the very server it is supposed to back up.
Consulting and audit: from CZK 1,090 per hour (about €45)
Penetration test: depending on scope
Monthly security management: individual calculation
Euro amounts are indicative only, converted at a fixed rate; we invoice in Czech koruna.
For clients with flat-fee network management, ongoing security updates and monitoring are part of the fee.
